# Tokenomics

**Important upgrade \[June 17th]:** Aster's tokenomics upgrade puts the platform's own activity to work, rewarding veASTER stakers and reducing $ASTER supply. 99% of daily fees buy back $ASTER automatically, all of which is distributed to veASTER stakers. Every buyback triggers an equal burn from reserve. Burns are executed bi-weekly and will continue until the total supply reaches 3,000,000,000.

### **Allocation and Distribution Schedule**

#### **Token Allocation**

The $ASTER token supply is distributed across several key categories to support community growth, ecosystem development, and long-term protocol sustainability.

<table data-header-hidden><thead><tr><th></th><th width="499.74609375"></th><th></th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td><strong>Category</strong></td><td><strong>Description</strong></td><td><strong>Allocation</strong></td></tr><tr><td>Airdrop</td><td>Incentives for traders, community builders, and key ecosystem stakeholders</td><td>53.5%</td></tr><tr><td>Ecosystem &#x26; Community</td><td>Migration pool for APX holders, ecosystem grants, marketing initiatives, initial liquidity and staking rewards on exchanges</td><td>30%</td></tr><tr><td>Treasury</td><td>Reserved for future strategic initiatives, operational reserves, and governance flexibility</td><td>7%</td></tr><tr><td>Team</td><td>Allocated to Aster core contributors and advisors with cliff vesting</td><td>5%</td></tr><tr><td>Liquidity &#x26; Listings</td><td>Reserved for exchange listings to facilitate liquidity bootstrapping.</td><td>4.5%</td></tr></tbody></table>

#### **Airdrop (53.5% - 4,280,000,000 $ASTER)**

8.8% of total allocation (704,000,000 $ASTER) will be unlocked immediately upon Aster TGE for eligible participants from two reward programs: Aster Spectra and Aster Gems.

Unclaimed $ASTER tokens will be redirected back to Airdrop & Community Rewards allocation for future community distribution.

All remaining $ASTER tokens under this category will be gradually released over the next 80 months (approximately 7 years), subject to future adjustments by protocol governance.

#### **Ecosystem & Community (30% - 2,400,000,000 $ASTER)**

The APX Upgrade, Marketing & Ecosystem allocation is reserved for APX upgrade allocation, liquidity bootstrapping, ecosystem partnerships, staking rewards and grants.

Eligible $APX holders and stakers will be able to exchange their tokens for $ASTER during a designated swap period. The conversion rate will decrease over time.

This allocation (excluding the APX to ASTER swap) was originally vested over 20 months on a linear distribution model. The linear vesting was active for 4 months (October 2025 – January 2026) and has since been replaced by a staking emission model. Staking rewards are currently the sole active use of this allocation. Refer to the Staking page for current emission parameters.

#### **Treasury (7% - 560,000,000 $ASTER)**

The Foundation Treasury allocation is reserved for future strategic growth initiatives, operational reserves, and governance initiatives.

It will not enter circulating supply after TGE and remains fully locked until utilized via governance-approved mechanisms.

#### **Team (5% - 400,000,000 $ASTER)**

The Team & Advisors allocation is reserved for the long-term alignment of core contributors and advisors.

* **Cliff:** 12 months from TGE
* **Vesting**: 40 months of linear distribution (10,000,000 $ASTER per month)

#### **Liquidity & Listing (4.5% - 360,000,000 $ASTER)**

The Liquidity & Listing allocation is reserved for exchange listings to facilitate liquidity bootstrapping. This allocation will be fully unlocked upon TGE.

#### **Protocol Revenue Buyback Initiative**

Aster has upgraded its buyback mechanism so that the platform's own activity both rewards stakers and reduces $ASTER supply.

#### Fee Buyback

\
99% of Aster's daily platform fees are used to automatically buy back $ASTER. The buyback runs via TWAP across each day and settles on-chain to the public buyback wallet, with no discretionary reserve.

#### Staking Rewards

&#x20;All bought-back $ASTER is distributed to stakers. Each epoch, the buyback amount is added on top of the 300,000 $ASTER base Loyalty Rewards and distributed to veASTER holders by lock weight.

#### Burn Mechanism

\
For every $ASTER bought back, an equal amount is burned from reserve — with the Team allocation burned first. Burns are executed bi-weekly and will continue until the total supply reaches 3,000,000,000.

#### Permissionless Spot Listing Fee

\
Every permissionless listing on Aster Spot incurs a 50,000 USDT listing fee, which is used to buy back $ASTER as additional staking rewards. Spot listing fees are collected weekly and enter the buyback the following week, with staking rewards from this portion taking effect two weeks after listing.

### Overall Highlights

* 53.5% of $ASTER is reserved for community rewards via airdrops.
* 99% of daily platform fees are automatically used to buy back $ASTER, with all bought-back tokens distributed to veASTER stakers as additional Loyalty Rewards each epoch.
* For every $ASTER bought back, an equal amount is burned from the reserve—team allocation is burned first. The burn continues until total supply reaches 3,000,000,000.&#x20;
* Remaining $ASTER will be distributed gradually over time for long-term protocol sustainability.
