# APX Token Exchange
With the [reveal of $ASTER token](https://medium.com/asterdex/all-need-to-know-about-aster-airdrop-24b2e914b025) by Aster, APX holders will soon be able to upgrade their $APX tokens to $ASTER. This article explains everything you need to know before exchanging your APX holdings for $ASTER.
#### APX to ASTER Exchange Info
APX Token Exchange page will be live on September 17 2025. All exact timestamps for time sensitive activities will be revealed closer during the day - please watch out for announcements from [Aster’s X account](https://x.com/Aster_DEX).
#### APX token holders:

You can immediately exchange APX spot tokens for $ASTER. The exchange ratio decreases over time on a first-come, first-served basis. See the exchange ratios below across five time periods.
**Rewards from APX DAO will end on September 11.**
**APX DAO stakers:**
You can unlock your veNFT and retrieve all your $APX tokens without penalties on September 16, before exchanging APX spot tokens for $ASTER based on the same exchange ratios below.

**APX to ASTER Exchange Process**
**APX token holders:**
1. Once APX Token Upgrade page is live, visit the page and connect your wallet
2. Deposit $APX to your Aster spot account
3. Enter the amount of $APX you wish to exchange, and complete the exchange to receive your $ASTER tokens instantly in your Aster spot account
4. After that, you can trade the $ASTER tokens on the Spot trading page when trading opens or withdraw the $ASTER tokens to your crypto wallet when withdrawals are live
**APX DAO stakers:**
1. Access the [APX DAO page](https://www.apollox.finance/en/governance) to unlock your current veNFT and retrieve all your $APX tokens without penalties
2. Once unlocked, proceed to the Aster exchange page to swap for $ASTER tokens based on the steps shared above for APX token holders.
💡 Tip: Please claim all your rewards before unlocking the current veNFT on APX DAO.

**How do I exchange $APX for $ASTER tokens?**
* Go to the Aster exchange page, connect your wallet, and deposit your $APX tokens into your spot account. Enter the amount you want to convert, then confirm the exchange. Your $ASTER tokens will be added instantly to your Spot account.
**How do I exchange $APX from APX DAO for $ASTER tokens?**
* On the[ APX DAO page](https://www.apollox.finance/en/governance), use the immediate unlock feature to retrieve your staked $APX. After unlocking, return to the Aster exchange page to complete the swap. Please note that the exchange rate decreases over time.
**How do I check the $ASTER token balance after the exchange?**
* You will see your $ASTER token balance in the Aster spot account directly after the exchange. You may trade $ASTER tokens on the spot market directly or withdraw $ASTER to another wallet.
* Your $ASTER balance will appear directly in your Spot account after the exchange. You can trade $ASTER on the spot market or withdraw it to another wallet.
**When can I unlock the veNFT on the APX DAO page?**
* The instant unlock feature with no penalties will be available on September 16.
**When can I deposit $APX tokens to my Aster Spot account?**
* Aster will enable $APX token deposits on September 16. Please follow [our Twitter](https://x.com/Aster_DEX) for the exact timestamps for the instant veNFT unlock and $APX deposit functions on Aster.
