Grid Trading Lifecycle
Stage
Description
Grid Trigger (optional)
Choose to start grid orders immediately, or set a trigger price. The grid activates when the market price (Last price or Mark price) rises above or falls below your specified trigger price.
Initial structure
Based on the latest market price, the system places sell limit orders above the market and buy limit orders below it. The number of initial limit orders equals the number of grids + 1, since no position is held yet. One order (nearest to market) is the initial opening order waiting to execute.
Open osition
For neutral grids, the strategy begins with no initial position. The initial position is triggered when the market trades beyond the nearest price point after setup.
Grid Update
Initial sell orders for the neutral grid are placed above the current market price; buy orders are populated below. The price level nearest to the market is excluded.
Stop Trigger (optional)
Set a Stop_upper_limit and Stop_lower_limit. When the market price breaches either level, the grid stops — signaling the market is no longer oscillating within your range.
Order Cancellation
After the grid stops, choose whether to cancel all orders and close all positions manually or automatically.
Grid Creation Failures
Grid creation may fail if:
You already have an active grid strategy on the selected trading pair.
You have open orders or positions on the selected symbol.
You are in Hedge Mode — switch to One-Way Mode in trading settings.
You have exceeded the limit of 10 active or pending grid strategies.
Grid Termination
A grid will terminate if:
You manually stop the grid.
Insufficient margin causes positions to be liquidated or prevents orders from being placed.
You manually cancel some or all grid limit orders.
You manually close some or all grid positions.
