Dumb mode

Dumb mode is a forecast-based trading feature on Aster Simple that allows users to predict minute-by-minute price movements of an underlying asset. Trades are settled based on the asset’s entry and expiry prices.

This mode is available on both BNB Chain and Arbitrum networks.

How to place Dumb mode orders

Choosing the expiration period

1. Toggle to Dumb mode:

   • Switch between Perp and Dumb modes. Ensure you’re in Dumb mode.

2. Select asset and expiration period:

   • Choose the desired asset and set the expiration duration.

   • Available expiration windows:

     • 30 minutes: Maximum ROI of 72%.

     • 1 hour: Maximum ROI of 77%.

     • For BTC/USD and ETH/USD:

       • 5 minutes: Maximum ROI of 77%.

       • 15 minutes: Maximum ROI of 80%.

       • 30 minutes: Maximum ROI of 82%.

3. Place a bet (open position):

   • Choose a default percentage setting or manually input the principal amount.

Important notes:

• Expiration timer:

  • The countdown begins after the transaction is confirmed on the blockchain, not when the 'Long' or 'Short' button is clicked.

• Entry price reference:

  • The displayed entry price is for reference only. The actual entry price is determined at the moment the transaction is confirmed on the blockchain.

Profit and loss conditions

• Long position:

  • If the expiry price > entry price: You make a profit (subject to performance adjustments)

  • If the expiry price ≤ entry price: You lose your entire principal

• Short position:

  • If the expiry price < entry price: You make a profit (subject to performance adjustments)

  • If the expiry price ≥ entry price: You lose your entire principal

Fees

• No open/close fees are charged in Dumb Mode.

• A 6% fee on the principal is applied only on winning trades. This fee is already factored into the ROI.
